Burroughs (Ridgecrest) 26, Saugus 14--Burroughs intercepted two of junior Jeff Hickman’s passes and outgained the Centurions, 277 yards to 200, to post its first win of the season.

Saugus (4-3, 1-1) trailed, 14-0, at halftime but pulled to within 14-8 on a nine-yard pass from Hickman to John Lopata late in the third quarter. A four-yard touchdown run by Ivy Calvin and a 40-yard pass from Pat Gilbreath to Joe Pepper iced the game for Burroughs (1-7, 1-1).

Hickman, who completed eight of 22 for 98 yards, threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Finicle to close out the scoring.
