GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Gilbert Leads Fullerton Past Buena Park, 78-69

Lynn Gilbert scored 21 points and had 15 rebounds to lead Fullerton High School to a 78-69 victory over Buena Park Friday in a Freeway League girls’ basketball game at Buena Park.

Jenny Comstock had 18 points for Fullerton, 11-5 overall and 3-0 in league play.

In the Garden Grove League:

Kennedy 69, Los Amigos 46--Guards Michelle Harris had 25 points and Valerie Ruiz added 22 to lead visiting Kennedy (7-8, 3-2). Carrie Elsaesser had 16 points for Los Amigos.

La Quinta 74, Santiago 16--Amy Jalewalia scored 42 points to lead visiting La Quinta (14-2, 5-0). Becky Elcock scored 10 for Santiago.

In the Academy League:

St. Margaret’s 41, Newport Christian 30--Kerrie Hook had 10 points, Hilary Albers had nine and Wendy Tacquard and Stephanie Neutz each scored eight for host St. Margaret’s (3-8, 1-1).

In the Angelus League:

Rosary 39, St. Paul 23--Diane Wiskus had 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead Rosary (10-3, 2-1).
