COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Houston Leads Pierce Offensive Surge, 26-5

Pat Houston almost hit for the cycle Wednesday--in the first inning--in Pierce College’s 26-5 nonconference baseball victory over visiting Compton.
Houston hit a single, double and triple and drove in six runs as the Brahmas (4-2) batted around twice and scored 20 runs in the first inning.
In another baseball game:
Cal State Northridge 9, The Master’s 7--Mike Solar’s two-run double in the fifth inning proved decisive in the Matadors’ nonconference baseball win at home.
Solar’s hit to right field gave CSUN (4-4) an 8-5 lead.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Antelope Valley 65, Victor Valley 62--Molly Jonnum had 21 points and 12 rebounds as Antelope Valley (17-10, 11-1) clinched a tie for its first Foothill League title.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Antelope Valley 122, Victor Valley 84--Seven players scored in double figures for the Marauders.
