Help Is Sought in Solving Arson Fire

U.S. Forest Service officials are seeking help in solving an arson fire that scorched 25 acres at the mouth of Roberts Canyon by Highway 39 in Azusa last month.
The Aug. 16 fire was caused by an illegal campfire not far from the bike path along the San Gabriel River, said Glenn Wears, law enforcement coordinator for the forest service’s Mt. Baldy District in Glendora.
“We’re hoping that somebody saw someone running away,” Wears said, noting there is no automobile access in the immediate area.
Anyone with information should call Wears or Rita Nolan at (818) 335-1251.
