Sylmar 28, El Camino Real 21--Running back Tobaise Brookins rushed for 174 yards in 34 carries and three touchdowns to lead Sylmar (2-0). Brookins scored the game-winning touchdown on a two-yard run late in the third period.
Sylmar trailed, 21-14, at halftime, but scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and held El Camino Real (1-1) to zero yards in offense in the period and 58 in the second half. Sylmar stopped El Camino Real on downs at the Sylmar 11 with just over seven minutes to play and ran out the clock.
El Camino Real running backs Ryan Marine and Chris Griggs each rushed for 98 yards, and Griggs scored on touchdown runs of one, 10 and 48 yards.
