Fullerton 36, Pasadena 29--Fullerton College running back Brian Williams scored three touchdowns, including the winning score in the fourth quarter, to lead the undefeated Hornets (3-0) to a 36-29 Mission Conference victory at Fullerton District Stadium.

Pasadena (3-1) rallied from a 29-15 deficit on two touchdown runs of nine and 77 yards by Ostell Miles to tie the score, 29-29, with 12:26 remaining. Fullerton drove 63 yards for the go-ahead score, a two-yard run by Williams with 8:47 remaining. The big play on the drive was a lateral from quarterback Eric Robinson to wide receiver Terrance Green who connected with David Owens for a 41-yard pass play.

The Hornets scored two touchdowns in the third quarter when defensive back Tim Miltersen intercepted Pasadena quarterback Ken Edwards’ pass and returned it 24 yards for a touchdown. Fullerton extended the lead to 29-15 after a fumble recovery set up Williams’ four-yard touchdown run with 5:30 left in the third quarter.

Orange Coast 21, Grossmont 6--Orange Coast (2-1, 1-1 in conference) turned a blocked punt and two fumble recoveries into two touchdowns to win easily at Grossmont (1-3, 0-2).

Golden West 24, San Diego Mesa 14--Golden West (3-0, 2-0) scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to defeat visiting San Diego Mesa (0-4, 0-2).

Saddleback 35, Southwestern 28--Jeff Bailey passed for 204 yards and three touchdowns, Dax Jordan had four catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns and Matt Carvalho had 20 carries for 112 yards rushing to lead host Saddleback (1-2, 1-1). Saddleback broke an eight-game losing streak dating to Oct. 4, 1989.

At the San Dieg Mesa women’s volleyball tournament:

El Camino 2, Orange Coast 1--Orange Coast finished third in the consolation bracket. El Camino defeated Orange Coast, 1-15, 15-13, 15-7, in the consolation semifinals. Reiko Matsumoto and Stephanie Svidergol each had 17 kills to lead Orange Coast (3-2).
