Oxnard Ordered to Forfeit 2 Wins

Share

The Oxnard High football team has been ordered by the Southern Section office to forfeit two victories in which it allegedly used an ineligible player.

According to Coach Jack Davis, Oxnard must forfeit a 21-15 win over Camarillo and a 36-14 win over Channel Islands because Kelly Kendrick competed. Davis said he was informed by the Southern Section that Kendrick, who transferred from Buena before the season, was eligible to compete.

But Oxnard received a letter from the Southern Section last week that said Kendrick was ineligible. Kendrick, a running back, did not play the past two weeks.
