El Camino and Crawford high schools might pick up forfeit victories pending a Southern Section investigation into the eligibility of Mission Viejo’s Marcellus Chrishon, a transfer from Temecula Valley, who is the ninth-leading rusher in Orange County.

A decision on the matter could come this week.

Mission Viejo, which is 5-1 at the moment, defeated El Camino, 14-6, in the third week of the season and Crawford, 39-0, in the fourth week. Those reversals would give El Camino and Crawford 3-3 overall records. Rancho Buena Vista played Mission Viejo in the second week, but the Longhorns won, 45-24.

If Mission Viejo must forfeit all its games, this would be the second and third time this season a San Diego County team has benefitted from out-of-county forfeits. Escondido (5-1) picked up a victory in the third week of the season after it was discovered Temecula Valley used an ineligible player. Temecula Valley had defeated Escondido, 7-6.
