Drossin Ties Girls’ Mark in Cross-Country

Agoura High’s Deena Drossin tied a prep girls’ course record in winning the Kinney West regional cross-country meet Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno.
Drossin, a senior, ran the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes 7 seconds, tying the record set by Marnie Mason of Klamath Falls, Ore., in 1984. Jeannie Rothman of Westlake Village Westlake finished second in 17:16 and Milena Glusac of Fallbrook was third in 17:25.
Arroyo Grande senior Louie Quintana won the boys’ race in 14:49. James Menon of San Luis Obispo was second in 15:01 and David Hartman of Canyon Country Canyon placed third in 15:04.
