BOYS’ ROUNDUP : Woolridge Paces Santa Ana to Third Victory in a Row

Chauncey Woolridge scored 20 points to lead Santa Ana High School to a 72-48 victory over Cypress in a nonleague basketball game Saturday night at Santa Ana. Woolridge, a 6-foot-5 senior, also had 17 rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for Santa Ana (3-2), which led 31-19 at the half and 55-35 after three quarters.

In other nonlegaue games:

Estancia 66, Mission Viejo 45--Matt Fuerbringer scored 22 points as Estancia (8-1) came back a night after losing in the championship game of the La Quinta tournament.

Savanna 75, Bellarmine Jefferson 26--Point guard Jeremy Lyche had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Toby Priest added 12 points as host Savanna routed Bell-Jeff of Burbank.

Baptist Christian 58, Liberty Christian 57 (OT)--Gabe Baltodano of Liberty Christian made two free throws with six seconds left to send the game into overtime. Dave Kellams led Liberty Christian (3-4) with 20 points.

In the third-place game of the El Dorado tournament:

Canyon Country Canyon 79, Anaheim Canyon 62--Reggie Haggans scored 19 points to lead Canyon Country Canyon. Anaheim Canyon lead, 17-15, after the first quarter but was outscored, 20-9, in the second.

Pomona defeated Long Beach Jordan, 77-64, to win the tournament title.

In the consolation championship:

Sunny Hills 86, Downey 68--David Ragsdale scored 25 points and Brett Mitchelson added 24 for Sunny Hills, which led, 22-14, after the first quarter.

In the seventh-place game:

El Dorado 76, Whittier Christian 58--David Robichaaud and Brett Tomko each scored 24 points for El Dorado.

In the Beverly Hills tournament:

Beverly Hills 79, El Toro 59--Ken Koppelman and Jason Senik each scored 14 for El Toro (4-3) in the third-place game.
