16,000 Are Expected to Hit the Road in Redondo 10-K

An estimated 16,000 participants are expected to compete in the 13th Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday 10-K Run and 5-K Walk. The event is the largest of its kind west of the Mississippi. The race starts at Beryl Street and Harbor Drive. It begins at 8 a.m.

The Tom Flavin Invitational Golf Tournament to benefit the American Red Cross disaster relief fund will be held at the Los Verdes Golf Course Feb. 4. The cost is $50 per golfer. Company sponsorships are also being sought. Information: (213) 395-9335 or 394-3773.

The Manhattan Beach Badminton Club plays host to a seniors/masters international tournament Feb. 7-10. Gary Higgins of Redondo Beach and John Britton of Manhattan Beach, members of the United States National Badminton Team, will compete with players from Canada and Mexico. Admission is free.
