Mt. Carmel 68, Mira Mesa 34--This was essentially over by halftime when second-seeded Mt. Carmel (20-2) took a 36-9 lead. “We played the most incredible first half I’ve seen my team play all year,” Mt. Carmel Coach Tracey Johnson said.
Jennifer Alley led the Sundevils with 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Nicol Nicholas added 16 points and Tammy Brokaw 11, including eight in the first half.
Tyffanii Evans was the only Marauder (11-15) in double figure scoring with 12.
Division II
El Cajon Valley 89, San Pasqual 57--Top-seeded El Cajon Valley (26-1) had little trouble with San Pasqual (16-11) in El Cajon. Heather Holm had 27 points and seven rebounds for the Braves. Monica Kraknes added 20 points and Julie Woodley 10 points and 12 assists.
Division V
Christian 77, Marian 45--Top-seeded Christian (20-4) advanced to Wednesday’s semifinals with the convincing victory over Marian (8-16).
