WHAT NEXT? Marina High’s Cherokee Parks is honored today as the Times Orange County boys basketball player of the year (C1, C8 and C9). . . . Parks, who will attend Duke, is only the third two-time winner of the honor. The others were Los Amigos center Clayton Olivier and Mater Dei forward Tom Lewis. . . . Both went on to play for USC, and Olivier is now boys’ basketball coach at his prep alma mater. Lewis left USC to play for Pepperdine, left Pepperdine and was drafted by the La Crosse, Wis., Catbirds in the Continental Basketball Assn. He didn’t sign, however. The Catbirds still managed to make the playoffs this year.
