Share

Another game, another error, another disappointment.

That was the modus operandi Saturday for the Cal Lutheran softball team as it lost to Azusa Pacific, 3-2, on a seventh-inning error in the championship game of the NAIA District 3 tournament.

Friday, the Regals (31-10), seeded first in the tournament, committed nine errors in an 11-1 loss to Azusa Pacific, forcing them to sweep Azusa Pacific on Saturday in order to advance to the bi-district tournament this week.

But shortstop Kim White committed an error on Julie Badillo’s ground ball with the score tied, 2-2, and the bases loaded with two out in the seventh. Thus, Azusa Pacific (32-19) advances to the bi-district tournament.
