Share

For the first half of Cal State Northridge’s soccer match on Saturday night, the crowd at North Campus Stadium didn’t have much to cheer about in terms of offense.

In fact, the half ended in a scoreless tie.

Northridge piled on the points after intermission, however, and defeated The Master’s, 4-0, in a nonconference match before 1,703.

Danny Daniels scored from 10 yards at the 53-minute mark of the match to break the drought, and the goals soon started to pile up.

Gus Cardenas scored from 10 yards at the 76-minute mark off a crossing pass from Terry Davila to complete the scoring.

Joel Entreken and Travis Harding combined in goal for the shutout for Northridge, which has allowed just one goal in its three matches.

Entreken, who was credited with half a shutout, moved into a tie for third with Mike Littman, a 1989 graduate, on the Northridge career shutout list. He has five.

Master’s fell to 1-3.
