HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Burbank Opens With a Convincing 37-0 Victory Over Hoover

Junior tailback Alex Dixon rushed for 111 yards in six carries, including scoring runs of 43 and 34 yards, to lead Burbank High to a 37-0 victory over Hoover in a season opener Saturday night at Burroughs High.
Burbank running back Steve Brenes, a junior, added 75 yards in 12 carries and scored on runs of four and 21 yards. Frank Brenes, Steve’s older brother, gained 73 yards in nine attempts.
Burbank quarterback Bryon Linville completed five of six passes for 61 yards.
Hoover running back Sevak Shirvanian rushed 12 times for 36 yards and quarterback Nathan Dishington completed six of 11 passes for 46 yards.
Burbank held Hoover to 99 yards in offense.
