Royal 21, Saugus 7--Mike Streeter ran 95 yards for a touchdown on Royal’s first possession to lead the Highlanders (2-0) at College of the Canyons.
David Weeg of Saugus took the opening kickoff 93 yards to the Royal six, but the Highlander defense held on fourth and seven. Streeter (eight carries, 165 yards) scored on a draw play on Royal’s third play.
Centurion quarterback Bobby Cowan (13 for 28, 156 yards) ran three yards in the second quarter to tie the score, 7-7.
Royal’s Damien Geib (12 carries, 73 yards) went over from the two in the third quarter to give Royal the lead for good.
Royal’s Ryan Fien (six of 15, 72 yards), under constant pressure all night, hit Carlos Gonzales from seven yards for the final score.
