Fullerton 23, San Diego Mesa 9--Fullback John Mountain (138 yards rushing), kicker Scott Szeredy (three field goals) and defense were the keys for host Fullerton (2-0, 1-0).

The Hornets gave up only 127 yards, including one rushing. Randy Roskelly gave Fullerton (2-0, 1-0) the lead for good 1:28 into the game with a 16-yard interception return.

Orange Coast 35, Cerritos 15--Adrain Steen rushed for two touchdowns and 105 yards in 20 carries for host Orange Coast (2-0, 1-0). Pirate quarterback Donnie Smith threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns, finding Cullen Ploushay for a 15-yard score and Brian Higgins for nine yards. Cerritos is 1-2, 0-1.

Golden West 17, San Diego City 6--San Diego City recovered four second-half fumbles inside the Golden West 30, but the Rustler defense held each time. Mark Lengner had 81 yards in 21 carries for Golden West (2-0, 1-0). San Diego City (0-3, 0-1) has lost 24 consecutive games.

Mt. San Antonio 30, Rancho Santiago 24--Trent Julian had a career high nine catches for 92 yards in a losing cause for Rancho Santiago (1-1, 0-1). Rancho Santiago outgained Mt. SAC, 410-308.

Palomar 43, Riverside 14--Jerry Garrett caught 11 passes for 121 yards for Palomar (2-1). Riverside is 0-2.
