Dick Haines, Vista football coach, was resting comfortably at Tri-City Medical Center after entering the hospital early Saturday morning because of tightness in his chest.
According to Martha Haines, her husband, who is 65, was examined by heart specialist Dr. Edward Evans and was told there was no heart damage.
Haines started feeling the tightness shortly after the Panthers’ 21-14 victory over Orange Glen Friday night. Haines’ jaw also ached, his wife said.
Haines, 169-67 in 21 1/2 seasons at Vista, underwent numerous tests Sunday and Monday, including an angiogram, and is scheduled to undergo a treadmill test today. Haines could be released as early as today and probably by Wednesday, his wife said.
