Granada Hills 29, Cleveland 6--Junior tailback Raheem Kyle rushed for a modest 72 yards in 15 carries but scored three touchdowns to lead Granada Hills at home.
Kyle scored the Highlanders’ first touchdown on a 26-yard run in the first quarter. He added scoring runs of one and two yards in the second and fourth quarters.
Granada Hills quarterback Edgar Vasquez completed 12 of 17 passes for 201 yards and one touchdown. His 10-yard pass to John Torgeson gave Granada Hills (3-1, 2-0) a 23-0 lead in the third quarter.
Cleveland’s only score came on a 17-play, 80-yard drive in the third quarter capped by Diondre Bell’s three-yard run. Bell finished with 88 yards in 15 carries. Teammate Ibn Bilal had 49 yards in 12 carries.
Granada Hills totaled 322 yards in offense. Cleveland (1-2-1, 0-1-1) had 164 yards, only 13 of them passing.
