STATE VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS
In the Division I Southern California Regional final:
El Toro 3, Mountain View St. Francis 1--While St. Francis started five players over 6-feet tall, the visiting Chargers attacked from the outside for a 15-6, 14-16, 16-14, 15-13 victory. Jamie Smith had 26 kills and Wendy Balut added 16 to pace El Toro (23-4), which advances to the state championship match Saturday at Cal State Fullerton.
In the Division V Southern California Regional final:
Capistrano Valley Christian 3, Brentwood Prep 1--Karen Benkowski had 23 kills and Kathleen Bunce had 15 kills and five stuff blocks for Capistrano Valley Christian (18-2), which also advances to the state championship match Saturday at Cal State Fullerton.
