ROUNDUP : Antelope Valley Adds Page to Record Book

Paula Page, an Antelope Valley College forward, set three school records in the Marauders’ 97-79 victory over visiting Riverside in a women’s nonconference basketball game Wednesday night.

Page, a 6-foot-1 sophomore, set school marks for points scored (40), blocked shots (six) and free-throw percentage (14 of 14).

The Quartz Hill High graduate also had five steals and grabbed 21 rebounds, four shy of the school record. She made 13 of 21 shots from the field.

The Marauders (6-1) held a 51-45 advantage at halftime but pulled away from Riverside (2-2) in the second half.

Charley Johnson, a 5-6 freshman guard who also graduated from Quartz Hill, scored 21 points and Krischele Gill added 14.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Buena 108, Serra 79--Lance Fay scored 37 points to lead Buena (1-0)in the first round of the Loyola tournament.

Fay made five three-point baskets and had six steals and seven assists. He made 14 of 25 shots from the field.

Hueneme 75, Bosco Tech 40--Tony Smith and Wendell Nunnery combined for 33 points to pace Hueneme’s rout of Bosco Tech (0-2) in a first-round game of the Bishop Amat tournament.

Smith scored a team-high 17 points and Nunnery added 16--including 12 on three-point baskets--for Hueneme (1-0). Todd Uffens added 10 for Hueneme, and Tino Kallimanis scored a game-high 21 for Bosco Tech.

Moorpark 57, Oak Park 49--Jeff Barry had 14 points and Ellis Green added 13 to lead Moorpark (1-1) in a consolation game of the Faith Baptist tournament.

Senior forward Dave Shaw scored a game-high 19 points for Oak Park, which lost its third game in as many days.

Bishop Diego 57, St. Genevieve 50--Three St. Genevieve players scored in double figures but it wasn’t enough as Bishop Diego handed the Valiants (0-2) their second loss in as many days in consolation-bracket play of the Faith Baptist tournament.

Ben Rivera scored a game-high 23 points for Bishop Diego. Jeremy Iaccino scored 20 and John Hoffman had 13 for the Valiants.

Fillmore 66, Glendale Academy 26--Rudy Alcantar scored 12 points and teammate Danny Ocegueda added 11 points and 13 rebounds for Fillmore (1-1) in a consolation-bracket game of the Faith Baptist tournament.

Crescenta Valley 68, Notre Dame JV 45--Forward Josh Willis scored a game-high 26 points to lead Crescenta Valley (2-0) in the first round of the Burbank-Hoover tournament at Burbank.

Hoover 69, Marshall 64 (OT)--Dave Ulloa scored 28 points and Chad Reese added 18 to lead host Hoover in a first-round game of the Burbank-Hoover tournament.

Eagle Rock 56, Burbank 44--Peter Kim scored 10 points to lead Burbank (1-1) in the first round of the Burbank-Hoover tournament.

Eagle Rock is 2-1.

Santa Barbara 80, Channel Islands 51--Omar Soto scored a game-high 20 points for Channel Islands (0-1), but the Raiders lost the first-round Nordhoff tournament game to Santa Barbara (1-0).

Ventura 76, Camp Kilpatrick 41--Ventura ran out to a 22-point halftime lead and did not look back in a first-round game of the Nordhoff tournament.

Larry Andter scored 16 points for Ventura (1-0), Randy Martinez added 13 and Matt Cummings had 10.

Camp Kilpatrick’s Raphael Robinson scored a team-high 13 points.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Alemany 50, Newbury Park 30--Sarah Guziel scored a game-high 15 points and added 12 rebounds to lead Alemany (2-0) in a nonleague game at Newbury Park.

Rachel Corelli added 14 points for Alemany.

Notre Dame 43, Chatsworth 24--Shannon McGlothlin scored 10 points and added nine rebounds for Notre Dame (1-1) in a first-round game of the L.A. Baptist tournament. Chatsworth is 1-1.

La Reina 72, Calabasas 35--Kena Morton scored a game-high 18 points and added 10 rebounds to lead host La Reina in its opener.

Tara Deukmedjian added 17 points for La Reina.

Calabasas is 0-2.

Louisville 53, Harvard-Westlake 31--Jennifer Casella scored 18 points and Jennifer Madden added 11 for Louisville in a nonleague opener for both schools.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Chatsworth 3, Granada Hills 1--Jeremy Foster, Dan Nash and Placido Moya each scored for host Chatsworth (2-0 overall, 1-0 in league play) in a Northwest Valley Conference opener.

San Fernando 3, Reseda 1--Fabian Galvan, Hector Molina and Oscar Arevalo each scored for host San Fernando (2-0-1, 1-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference opener.

Birmingham 2, Marshall 1--Juan Carlos Hueso and Jason Halpern scored for Birmingham (1-2) in a nonleague match at Marshall.

Royal 2, Ventura 0--Dan Morris and Ryan Campbell each scored first-half goals to help the Highlanders (1-0) beat Ventura (0-1) in a first-round match of the Thousand Oaks tournament.

Agoura 1, El Segundo 1--Harrison Choi scored Agoura’s only goal midway through the second half, but El Segundo’s Lawrence Norris tied the El Segundo tournament match about 10 minutes later.

Agoura (1-0-1) had 21 shots on goal. El Segundo (0-1-1) had six.

Calabasas 2, Chaminade 0--Jason Lonas scored both goals to give Calabasas (2-0) a nonleague victory over visiting Chaminade (0-2).

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Harvard-Westlake 5, Crossroads 0--Alyze Lowen scored two goals to lead the Wolverines (1-0-1) past Crossroads (0-1) in a nonleague match at Harvard-Westlake.

Crescenta Valley 3, Glendora 1--Nancy Allen scored twice to give the host Falcons a victory in a nonleague opener for both teams.
