Vengeance was theirs: In the four Southern Section championship games that involved a rematch of county teams, the losers of the regular-season game came out on top.
In Division II, Irvine beat Dana Hills, 22-11, after losing in South Coast league play, 27-23. In Division III, Los Alamitos beat Esperanza, 8-0, after losing in Empire League play, 28-7. In Division VII, Laguna Hills beat Trabuco Hills, 35-28, after losing in Pacific Coast League play, 34-21. In Division X, Southern California Christian beat Calvary Chapel, 34-14, after losing in Arrowhead League play, 19-14.
