Rancho Bernardo 73, John Burroughs 44--Kirk Hipple's 19 points, Bill McMahan's 17 and Greg Hanson's 16 paced Rancho Bernardo in the other semifinal.
Rim of the World 72, Granite Hills 68--Granite Hills outscored the Arrowhead team, 23-14, in the fourth quarter but came up short. Bob Allums scored 17 and Mark Kluge 16 for Granite Hills.
Escondido 64, Castle Park 53--Center Damien Cephas scored a game-high 35 points as Escondido outscored Castle Park by 13 points in the second half.

University City 75, Vernon (British Columbia) 53--Barry Waits scored 28 points and had 11 assists, and John Drake added 14 points for University City (5-3).
Oceanside 54, Chula Vista 53--Chula Vista trailed, 53-38, with six minutes remaining, but ran out of time when a last-ditch attempt didn't drop in a second-round game at Chula Vista. Damon Marrero led Oceanside (3-5) with 16 points. Teammate Larry Tanner added 12 points and eight rebounds. Jerome Green scored 22 points for the Spartans (6-5).
Helix 70, Hilltop 45--Lloyd Lake had 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists to keep Helix perfect at 6-0. Damon Barry added nine points and nine rebounds.
Fallbrook 82, Crawford 40--Chris Miller (29 points, five rebounds, four assists) and Brandon Phillips (20 points, eight rebounds) were the keys for Fallbrook (8-2). Rahmon Anderson led the Colts (0-7) with 13 points.
San Dieguito 67, Grossmont 61--Kurt Weikum paced the Mustangs (1-5) with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Grossmont (5-2) was led by Mike Kingsley's 20 points and Wynter Phoneix's 13 points and eight rebounds.
Vista 98, Washington Newport 62--Jason Barnes scored 34 points and Dave Dillon 12 as Vista (6-3) romped into tonight's semifinals.

Morse 41, Laguna Hills 30--Morse settled into a nice defense game, took control by halftime, 22-17, and held on in a consolation game despite missing seven of 13 free throws.
