In Orange Empire Conference men’s basketball:

Cypress 98, Golden West 80--Sophomore Sam Sabbara set a Cypress single-game record with 14 assists for the visiting Chargers (19-10, 6-5). Anthony Livingston and David Boyle had 19 points each for Cypress, which is in a three-way tie for second place with Riverside and Saddleback. Bret Lundeen had 17 for Golden West (14-17, 5-6).

Rancho Santiago 86, Fullerton 78--Host Rancho Santiago (21-9, 9-3) opened a 46-28 lead at the half. Glenn Greene scored 17 and Eric Dahl 13 for the Dons, which clinched the conference title Saturday.
