FULLERTON — Titan Athletic Director Bill Shumard Tuesday named an eight-person search committee to screen and interview candidates for the men’s basketball head coaching job, which opened when the school announced Monday that John Sneed’s contract would not be renewed.
Bill Dickerson, executive director of the Cal State Fullerton Foundation, will be chairman of the committee, which includes Augie Garrido, baseball coach and associate athletic director, Maryalyce Jeremiah, women’s basketball coach and associate athletic director, and Larry Zucker, director of the Titan Athletic Foundation.
The other committee members are Ron Hughes, chair of the sociology department and a former Titan basketball player, geography professor Bill Puzo, Associated Students vice president Russell Stein and booster Bob Williams.
Shumard said the committee, which met for an hour Tuesday, will recommend two or three finalists for the position, and the athletic director will make the final decision.
