Ripon Christian 80, Canoga Park Faith Baptist 70--Ripon, which had a size advantage, led throughout in winning the Division V final.

Faith Baptist (27-7) stayed close for the first half, trailing 33-28. But the Contenders were outscored by five points during the third quarter and were forced to foul down the stretch.

Forward Peter Rasmussen, who made nine of 23 shots, led Faith Baptist with 25 points. The team shot only 34.7%.

Ripon (34-1) was led by forward Tim Schoolland’s 36 points.

GIRLS

Brea-Olinda 47, Healdsburg 44--Nicole Erickson made a three-pointer with one minute to play to secure Brea-Olinda’s victory in the Division III championship.

Erickson, a sophomore guard, finished with only five points, making two of 11 shots.

Ladycat senior guard Joyd Anton finished with a game-high 19 points, 16 rebounds and four steals. The 6-foot senior is headed to USC.

Brea-Olinda’s victory tied it for second with Atherton Menlo School for the most State titles with three. San Diego Point Loma holds the record with four.

The Ladycats, making their fourth consecutive appearance in the State final, won the Division II title last year.

Healdsburg (31-4) stayed close, trailing, 38-35, after three quarters.

Guard Mariah Volk and forward Carrie Dormire led the Greyhounds with 12 points each.

El Cajon Christian 45, Ripon Christian 43--Junior guard Diana DeGrenier scored the winning basket on a layup as time expired to give El Cajon the Division V championship.

With the score 43-43, El Cajon forward Tiffany Stutz stole the ball with seven seconds remaining and moved it downcourt before passing to DeGrenier.

Stutz finished with a team-high 18 points and DeGrenier added six.

El Cajon (24-2) lost to Atherton Menlo School in the Division V championship last year.
