HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL : Robles’ One-Hitter Leads Montgomery to Victory

Share

It was obvious in warm-ups that Montgomery right-hander Oscar Robles didn’t have his good stuff for Tuesday’s start against Sweetwater in the Metro Conference opener.

Even pitching coach Ernesto Hermosillo complained that Robles’ “mechanics were off.”

Apparently Robles doesn’t need good mechanics. He took a one-hitter into the seventh inning en route to a 3-1 Montgomery victory.

Robles, who struck out five, will have plenty of time to work on his mechanics--he’s a sophomore.
