Boseman, a 6-foot-4 junior who led the Monarch boys to their first state basketball title, has been named Southern Section Division III Player of the Year by the Amateur Athletic Foundation/First Interstate Bank board of sports journalists.

In addition, Boseman was named to the 30-player all-state team by Cal-Hi Sports newsletter. Westchester guard James Gray, a 6-3 senior, was also named to the all-state team.

Last fall, Boseman was named Southern Section Division VIII Player of the Year after leading Morningside to its first section football title. He played quarterback and defensive back.
