Newport Harbor Volleyball Player Reinstated

Newport Harbor’s Beau Sheward, ruled academically ineligible for the first half of the volleyball season, has been reinstated, Sailor Coach Dan Glenn said Friday.

Sheward passed his spring-quarter courses and will be eligible to play Tuesday, when the Sailors, top-ranked in Orange County, play at unranked Tustin.

Sheward, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, led the Sailors to the Southern Section 4-A finals last season and earned third-team all-Southern Section honors.
