NEWPORT BEACH — Newport Harbor’s Beau Sheward, ruled academically ineligible for the first half of the volleyball season, has been reinstated, Sailor Coach Dan Glenn said Friday.
Sheward passed his spring-quarter courses and will be eligible to play Tuesday, when the Sailors, top-ranked in Orange County, play at unranked Tustin.
Sheward, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, led the Sailors to the Southern Section 4-A finals last season and earned third-team all-Southern Section honors.
