In another City Central game:
Lincoln 6, San Diego 4--Tobias Price (4-7) pitched a four-hitter and struck out nine, and Orlando Ortiz had two hits and three stolen bases for Lincoln (11-15, 4-7). San Diego is 13-12, 7-5.
City Eastern League
Mira Mesa 6, Patrick Henry 1--Ryan Cunningham struck out five and got relief help from Brendan Hause in the sixth as the No. 3 Marauders improved to 21-5, 10-1. Patrick Henry is 10-14-2, 5-6.
Point Loma 9, Morse 5--Winning pitcher Eric Bromley (7-2) went three for five with two RBIs and Dan Maringer hit a three-run home run to lift Point Loma (11-16-1, 4-8). Morse is 11-13, 4-7.
City Harbor League
St. Augustine 5, Coronado 4--Paul Hernandez singled in the winning run with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth inning. In relief, Memo Lopez (6-0) won for No. 6 St. Augustine (24-5, 10-1). Coronado’s Kyle Smock drove in three runs, including two in the seventh as the Islanders (16-11, 7-5) rallied to tie the game, 3-3. Both teams scored one run in the eighth inning.
City Western League
USDHS 20, University City 3--Chris Richard was four for four with four runs, two walks and two RBIs on a home run and double to power No. 7 USDHS (21-6, 9-2). David Thompson also homered for the Dons, and Aaron Blair was two for four with four RBIs and Mike Hall one for three with three RBIs. Todd Clark went three for four for UC (6-18, 2-9).
Coastal League
La Jolla Country Day 2, Francis Parker 0--Noah Katsell, a senior left-hander, pitched a no-hitter and struck out seven to pace LJCD (13-9, 8-3). Oddly, it was Katsell’s first victory this season. Matt McNeill tossed a two-hitter for Francis Parker (10-9, 7-4) but fell victim to six Lancer errors.
Metro Conference
Montgomery 5, Bonita Vista 2--No. 2 Montgomery (23-3, 14-0) finished as the only team in the county without a league loss, getting a three-hitter from sophomore ace Oscar Robles (7-2), who struck out five. Armando Mendoza provided the punch with a bases-loaded, two-out, two-run double in the third. Randy Millan hit a two-run homer for Bonita Vista (17-8-2, 9-4-1).
Mar Vista 2, Hilltop 0--Mar Vista’s victory, combined with Bonita Vista’s loss, means the two will meet Thursday in a league playoff game to determine second place. On Tuesday, Bobby Simmons drove in both runs with a double for the Mariners (17-8-2, 9-4-1). Henry Mercado tossed a four-hitter for Hilltop (10-14, 4-9).
Sweetwater 3, Chula Vista 0--Erik Gallardo, a senior right-hander, needed only 95 pitches to complete a two-hitter for Sweetwater (12-13-1, 5-9). He struck out six. John Jeffries (six-hitter, five strikeouts) wasn’t bad either, but Chula Vista finished 8-14, 2-12.
Castle Park 8, Southwest 2--Christian Vasquez went four for four and Vidal Valderas hit a home run to lead Castle Park (17-11, 8-6). Southwest is 6-14-1, 3-10.
