Millikan’s star pitcher led the way as the Rams clinched first place in the Moore League by defeating Lakewood High, 2-1. Hackett scored the tying run and pitched all seven innings, allowing only four hits and no earned runs. The Rams’ victory gave them sole possession of first place. In an 11-3 win over Poly High, Hackett allowed five hits, struck out six and gave up one earned run. At the plate, Hackett went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run. For the season, Hackett is batting .307 and has an ERA of 0.75. “She is a leader and a tough competitor,” Coach Diane Lewis says. Millikan of Long Beach will play host to Anaheim High today in the first round of the CIF 4-A softball playoffs.
