Four Titans Make All-District 8 Teams

Four Cal State Fullerton baseball players were named to the All-District 8 teams selected by the American Baseball Coaches Assn.

Third baseman Phil Nevin and catcher Jason Moler were first-team selections and starting pitchers James Popoff and Dan Naulty were on the second team.

Matt Luke, a California outfielder, and Pete Janicki, a UCLA pitcher, who were teammates of Nevin at El Dorado High, were first-team selections. Pepperdine relief pitcher Steve Montgomery (Fountain Valley High) also was a first-team pick.

Other former Orange County high school players on the second team were Pepperdine’s Chris Sheff (Laguna Hills) and Cal State Northridge’s Greg Shockey (Mater Dei).
