In another District 20 elimination game:

Valley North 8, Sepulveda 6--Valley North scored four times in the seventh to erase a two-run deficit against Sepulveda (21-6) at Pierce College.

Valley North (21-4-1) trailed, 6-4, in the seventh before Doug Dean’s two-run single tied it, 6-6. Matt LaCour’s two-run single moments later capped the scoring and gave Valley an 8-6 advantage.

Dean (4-0), a right-hander, allowed nine hits and six earned runs in eight innings. Sepulveda scored five runs in the third on Jeff Shapiro’s three-run double and Justin Paperny’s two-run single.

Second-seeded Valley North will face Verdugo Hills in an elimination game today at 1 p.m. at Burroughs High.
