SDSU players and coaches will be available...

SDSU players and coaches will be available for autographs and photographs Saturday at SDSU’s AzTrack Stadium. The event, billed as the Mighty 690 Aztec Day, will also include an intrasquad scrimmage, concessions and posters (free while they last). There is no admission charge.

The event is scheduled to run between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The scrimmage begins at 10:30, and autograph and photograph opportunities run from 11:15 to 12:15. For more information, call 283-SDSU.

TENNIS

Phil Moskal of San Diego won his first-round match in the U.S. National Amateur men’s tennis championships at The Concord Resort Hotel in Kiamesha Lake, N.Y.

Moskal defeated Bruce Wolfram of Port Washington, N.Y., 7-6 (7-4), 7-5, to advance to play Jordan Richman of New York in today’s second round. Richman beat Marc Cohen of New York, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.

Patrick Henson of Coronado lost his first-round match, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, to Jeff Hammond of Indianapolis.

GOLF

Debbie Kim and Jill Wery each shot an opening-round 84 and share the girls’ 15-17 division lead in the San Diego County Junior Championships at Balboa Park.

In the 13-14 division, Michelle Sperry and Eden Anderson also shot 84s to lead after the first round. Andy Kane’s 77 was one stroke better than Carlos Perez’ 78 in the boys’ 13-14 division. Play in the boys’ 15-17 division starts this morning.
