In Empire League girls’ tennis:

El Dorado 17, Katella 1--Tempa Rainey and Sarah Tobias swept in doubles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for host El Dorado (9-1, 3-0).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Estancia 9, Laguna Hills 9 (Estancia wins on games, 84-77)--Although no Estancia player swept, the Eagles improved to 9-2, 2-0. Elizabeth Yim swept in singles 6-2, 6-1, 6-0, for host Laguna Hills (4-2, 0-2).

In the Sea View League:

Corona del Mar 12, Irvine 6--Freshman Megan Wachtler swept in singles, 6-3, 6-0, 6-1, for host Corona del Mar (8-1, 6-0). Wachtler improved to 21-5 this season.

Santa Margarita 16, Tustin 2--Sandy Needham swept at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for host Santa Margarita (10-2, 5-1).

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 16, Mission Viejo 2--Maria Nguyen swept 6-1, 6-0, 6-0 for Capistrano Valley (3-5, 1-0). Mission Viejo is 2-6, 0-1.

El Toro 10, Mater Dei 8--The Chargers (6-3, 1-0) swept the final rotation of doubles sets to upset the 10th-ranked team in Southern Section Division I. Kate Kunath and Megan Reed swept at No. 3 doubles, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4, for host El Toro.

Erika Asmuss swept at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for Mater Dei (5-4, 0-1).

In Empire League girls’ volleyball:

Cypress 3, Esperanza 0--Heather Lowe had 22 kills for host Cypress (5-2, 1-0), which won 15-9, 15-9, 15-6.

In the Olympic League:

Calvary Chapel 3, Brethren Christian 0--Courtney Owens had 14 kills for host Calvary Chapel (4-1, 3-1), which won 15-6, 15-8, 15-6.

In the Orange League:

Valencia 3, Magnolia 0--Brandy Smerko had 12 kills for host Valencia (4-3, 1-0), which won 15-2, 15-4, 15-8.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Beach 3, Trabuco Hills 0--Rose Kuhn has 12 kills, and Rachel Wacholder had 10 in the Artists’ 15-2, 15-5, 16-14 victory. Laguna Beach (5-0, 1-0) is ranked second in Orange County.

In the Sea View League:

Corona Del Mar 3, Irvine 0--Jennifer Stroffe had 11 kills for top-ranked Corona del Mar (7-0, 5-0) in a 15-4, 15-9, 15-10 victory over Irvine (5-4, 3-2).

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 3, Mission Viejo 1--Shelly Smith had 28 kills for Capistrano Valley (6-1, 1-0). Teammate Kelly Morrow had 74 assists. Mission Viejo is 4-4, 0-1.

In the South Coast League:

Dana Hills 3, San Clemente 2--Jenny Kessy had 17 kills and Jeanne Vetter had 16 for host Dana Hills (7-0, 1-0) in a 17-15, 15-17, 5-15, 15-13, 16-14 victory. Dana Netherby had 17 kills for San Clemente.

Mater Dei 3, El Toro 2--Pattie Bowen had 20 kills and 14 digs for visiting Mater Dei (3-1, 1-0), which upset the fifth-ranked team in the county, 13-15, 9-15, 15-12, 15-11, 15-1. Roberta Gehlke had 14 kills, and Erica Helferich had 12 kills and seven blocks for the Monarchs, ranked seventh in the county.

In the Sunset League:

Fountain Valley 3, Marina 0--Lisa Brown had 16 kills for Fountain Valley (4-3, 4-1) in its 15-6, 15-10, 15-10 victory over Marina (3-2 in league).
