Bell-Jeff 10, Maranatha 0--Louis Martorano scored on a two-yard run in the first quarter and Jesse Llamas kicked a 25-yard field goal in the third quarter to lead the Guards (2-3) at Burroughs High.

In his first action as a varsity quarterback, sophomore John Pawlik completed seven of 11 for 79 yards, including one of 15 yards to Llamas that set up the field goal. Albert Alvarez gained 57 yards in 15 carries to lead the Guards, who have won two games in a row.
