SILVERADO CANYON : Fire Station on Way to Being Repaired

Share

County officials this week assured Silverado Canyon residents that the volunteer fire station badly burned in a blaze last month will be repaired.

The county has already moved to replace some of the equipment lost in the fire, which destroyed a fire engine, an emergency vehicle, support apparatus and a radio system. Plans to rebuild the burned portion of the station are also being drafted, officials said.

In the meantime, an aluminum structure was erected near the fire station to house some of the remaining vehicles and equipment.

The source of the fire, which caused more than $500,000 in damage, is still under investigation. Arson has been ruled out.
