OUTLOOK Now in their second season of varsity basketball, the Warriors are looking to improve on their last-place finish in the Olympic League last season. But with a squad lacking in size, the task won’t be easy. “We are in a building time,” said Flippin, who joins Luketic as co-coach. Luketic was the coach last season and Flippin his assistant. Sneed and Hunt, who will be the team’s main offensive threats, are the tallest players, so the Warriors will have to rely on other facets of the game to be competitive. “We handle the ball pretty well and we can shoot from outside, which we will have to do,” Flippin said. The backcourt duties will be shared by Brown, an all-league second-team selection in 1991-92, and Amasha McKenzie. Also returning is Alicia McKenzie, Amasha’s younger sister. Parque, a transfer from Paramount Leffingwell Christian, which closed last year, figures to see plenty of action. Flippin said the Warriors will have to play aggressive defense to counter for their height disadvantage. “We’re working on man-to-man (defense) and we’d like to do some full-court press,” she said. “We’re hoping to get the ball turned over that way and make things happen offensively.”
