OUTLOOK
The Seahawks are another team in the league that doesn’t have a lot of height, but Ocean View does have the perimeter game to make up for it. Lindquist, who earned All-Sunset honors last year, is one of the league’s top three-point shooters and should increase last year’s 11-point average. Martini, an honorable mention all-league choice last season, is Ocean View’s chief inside threat and can also score from 15 feet. Martin lists his team as a dark horse for the league title, but the Seahawks should contend because of their experience and depth. Ocean View advanced to the Division I-A semifinals last year after finishing tied for second in league and has seven lettermen back from that team. In addition, the things Ocean View does well easily outnumber its weaknesses. “We’ve got good shooting, court sense, mobility and team speed,” Martin said. “We don’t have height or rebounding.” The traditionally strong Seahawks list a 20-victory season and the league title among their goals but will need to play well enough on the perimeter to compensate for inside mismatches against opponents such as Marina and Fountain Valley.
