In the Simi Valley boys’ tournament championship:

Capistrano Valley 3, Clovis West 1--John Brull scored nine minutes into the game and Capistrano Valley led, 1-0, at the half. Brooke Humphrey and Octavio Alejo both scored for Capistrano Valley (10-3-2) in the second half. Brian Beach, who had five saves, was named the tournament MVP.

In the Foothill girls’ soccer tournament:

Edison 4, Trabuco Hills 0--Lynne Thiel scored twice for Edison (8-3) in a quarterfinal-round game. Christine Tyler and Erin Bailey each also scored a goal for the Chargers, who play El Toro at 10:30 a.m. today in one semifinal.

El Toro 1, Capistrano Valley 0--Sherri Kaminski scored the game’s only goal and Traci Jensen had seven saves as El Toro (8-0-1), the top-ranked team in Orange County, remained undefeated by beating No. 4 Capistrano Valley (9-2-2) in a quarterfinal.

Marina 3, South Torrance 0--Goalkeeper Jennifer Simmons made five saves to help lead Marina (6-3) to a quarterfinal victory over South Torrance (10-3). Marina plays unbeaten Encinitas San Dieguito, which defeated Simi Valley, 2-0, in another quarterfinal, in today’s semifinals.

In the Sunny Hills girls’ soccer tournament:

Ventura Buena 2, Sunny Hills 1--Goalkeeper Rondi Golden made four saves as Ventura Buena (6-3-1) won the tournament championship. Jamie Gardiner scored for Sunny Hills (7-2-1).

Orange 3, Ventura 1--Laura Roundy scored two goals to lead Orange (5-4-1) to victory in the third-place game.
