GARDEN GROVE LEAGUE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Last-Second Shot Wins It for La Quinta

Greg Greenfield made a 15-foot jump shot with one second left to give La Quinta a 53-51 victory over Rancho Alamitos in a Garden Grove League boys’ basketball game Friday at La Quinta High School.

Rancho Alamitos (7-9, 3-2 in league) tied the score on a four-point play when Edward Taylor made a three-pointer and was fouled. He added the free throw to make it 51-51 with one minute remaining.

Kevin Doane had 15 points and 16 rebounds and Todd Snyder 11 points and 10 assists for La Quinta (5-9, 3-2).

In other league games:

Garden Grove 57, Los Amigos 38--Guard Jim Sebreros led visiting Garden Grove with 14 points. Jeff Bartel scored 13 for Los Amigos.

Kennedy 69, Bolsa Grande 39--Jeff Cummins had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Kennedy (14-3, 5-0). Paul Pappas added 16 points and seven steals, and Pat Kunz had 17 points for the Fighting Irish. Robert Fierro led Bolsa Grande with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Pacifica 56, Santiago 49--Guard Chris Vlasic had 25 points, including three three-pointers, for visiting Pacifica (8-5, 3-2). Santiago is 1-4 in league.
