Laguna Beach, Sr.

Berney, a 6-foot setter, was a two-time Pacific Coast League MVP, all-county, all-Southern Section. He signed with USC, picking the Trojans over Penn State and George Mason.

*AARON GARCIA

Capistrano Valley, Sr.

Garcia, a 6-3 outside hitter, led Capistrano Valley to its first appearance in a section championship match this past season. One of the nation’s top recruits, he has signed with Stanford.

*PAUL NIHIPALI

Esperanza, Sr.

Where would Esperanza be without this guy? His outstanding hitting and strong blocking led the Aztecs to their first Division II section title. He’s headed to UCLA next season.

*CHRIS PITZAK

Esperanza, Sr.

Pitzak is a three-year starter who led the Aztecs to three Empire League titles, two section Division II championship match appearances and a Division II title. He’ll attend Brigham Young.

*ERIC SEIFFERT

Capistrano Valley, Sr.

Seiffert, a 6-6 middle blocker and The Times’ player of the year, is headed to USC next season. He played on the U.S. junior national elite team last summer with Aaron Garcia.

*SHADD WALKER

Huntington Beach, Sr.

A 6-3 outside hitter, Walker led the Oilers to an undefeated season, their third-consecutive Sunset League title and their first Division I section championship. He was the league’s co-MVP.
