In the Cuesta water polo tournament:

Golden West wins twice--The Rustlers, three-time defending state champions, beat Modesto, 21-6, and Saddleback, 18-6. Corey Delahunt led Golden West with a total of 11 goals in two games. Curtis Bowman added six. Golden West is 2-0.

In nonconference men’s soccer:

Irvine Valley 5, Glendale 1--Former Mission Viejo High star Frank Pace led Irvine Valley with two goals against Glendale. Pace, along with Jeff Rynders and Tony Guinane, scored Irvine Valley’s four goals in the first half. Emilio Vargas added the last early in the second half. Sergio Barranco scored Glendale’s lone goal. Irvine Valley is 3-1-1, Glendale 0-2.

Cypress 3, Los Angeles Harbor 1--Camilo Montealegre, Pat Trevino and Brian Dacuycuy scored for host Cypress (2-0).

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Golden West 1, Long Beach 1--Joleen Lewis, who was assisted by Carey Gordon, tied the score late in the first half for visiting Golden West (1-0-2). Long Beach City is 0-2-3.
