Santa Margarita 55, Corona del Mar 54 (OT)--Corona del Mar’s Ramin Bastani made a three-point shot with 15 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime, but Santa Margarita made four of six free throws in the extra period and held the Sea Kings to a three-pointer by Bastani.

Brian Hopkins and Brenden Mulligan each made two free throws in overtime for the No. 8 Eagles (10-4, 3-0). Mulligan scored 19 points.

Bastani scored 18 points for the Sea Kings (9-6, 1-2).

Irvine 53, Saddleback 38--Greg Foster scored 19 points for Irvine (6-9, 1-2). Chris Bradshaw scored 16 for Saddleback (6-8, 1-2).

Woodbridge 79, University 74--University, which trailed, 45-27, at halftime, rallied to tie the score with about five minutes left, but Woodbridge pulled away with clutch free-throw shooting.

The Warriors (7-7, 1-2) made 16 of 19 free throws in the quarter and 37 of 48 in the game. Randy Drummer, who made eight of 10 free throws in the quarter, scored 15 for Woodbridge.

Demetrius Zeigler, one of four University players to foul out, was called for his fifth foul with about two minutes left. He scored 34 points.

In Garden Grove League boys’ basketball:

Pacifica 77, Rancho Alamitos 59--Chris Vlasic had 22 points, Ramon Alliman had 16 points and 14 rebounds and Jaimi Bessho added 12 points for fifth-ranked Pacifica (12-1, 3-0).

Los Amigos 60, La Quinta 47--Mark Udell, Jason Weiss and Carlos Sianez each scored 12 points for visiting Los Amigos (6-8, 2-1).

Kevin Doan had 14 points and 10 rebounds for La Quinta (7-7, 1-2).

Bolsa Grande 69, Santiago 55--Brian Baughman scored 17 points and had 15 rebounds and Cuong Pham added 13 points and 15 rebounds for Bolsa Grande (6-7, 2-1). Henry Johnson had 17 points and 15 rebounds for Santiago (5-10, 0-3).

Kennedy 56, Garden Grove 48--Sean Gravett scored 18 points for Kennedy (4-9, 3-0) before being ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct in the fourth quarter.
