Todd Mather, who started most of two seasons at quarterback for OCC, is attending Tennessee Martin.

Saddleback’s Scott von der Ahe, the only first-team J.C. Grid-Wire All-American from Orange County this season, signed with Iowa. Von der Ahe set the Saddleback career mark for tackles with 206 and sacks with 22 1/2.

Rancho Santiago’s Jesse Gomez and George Burge, both powerful offensive linemen, signed with USC and New Mexico State. It will be the second trip to a Pac-10 school for Gomez, who signed with Oregon in 1990 after playing at Santa Ana High.

Scott Caringella, a defensive back from Golden West, signed with Northern Illinois, and teammate Tafa Jefferson, another in a long line of standout offensive linemen for the Rustlers, signed with Pacific.

Josh Nelson (quarterback) and Ryan Roskelly (wide receiver/kick returner) of Fullerton also signed. Nelson is going to Mississippi and Roskelly to Memphis State.
