Brian Costello, Trabuco Hills’ No. 8 batter, singled in a run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Mustangs a 3-2 victory over Century in a Pacific Coast League baseball game Tuesday in Mission Viejo.

With one out in the 11th, Dan Delfium singled and stole second. Costello worked the count to three and one before singling down the right-field line for the winning run.

Costello played a part in each of the Mustangs runs. In the third inning, he tripled home Delfium and scored on a sacrifice fly by Gerry Beckham to give Trabuco Hills (11-5, 6-0 in league) a 2-0 lead.

Century (11-4, 4-2), which had gotten the lead-off hitter on base in five of the first six innings, tied the score in the sixth. The Centurions loaded the bases on an infield single by Art Tapia, a double by Jerry Ochoa and a walk to Christian Duran. Mustang reliever Ryan Kelley entered and got Ramiro Torres to hit into a double play, scoring Tapia. A single by Richard Cevallos tied the score before Kelley got the last out. Kelley (6-1) allowed three hits in six innings of relief.

Trabuco Hills had a chance to win the game in the seventh when it loaded the bases, but a fly out by Matt Rechner ended the inning.

The two teams meet for a third time this season on Friday at Century.
