OUTLOOK

The Vikings would have been one of the county’s best teams before the transfer of Cappel, the Academy League’s most valuable player. Teamed with Robbins and Bryant, they provide Marina with one of the county’s best front-court combinations. Robbins was an all-county and Southern Section selection who averaged 16.9 points and 11.6 rebounds. If that weren’t enough, Bryant might be more athletic than both; she averaged eight points and seven rebounds. Norie Nakase averaged almost five assists last year as a part-time starter, and the Vikings should be bolstered by the addition of Sortino and Emde; combined, they hold seven JV scoring records. A key player might be point guard Natalie Nakase, a freshman experienced beyond her years. Marina is after its fifth consecutive share of the league title; it tied Ocean View last season.
