OUTLOOK
The Spartans begin their first year in Southern Section competition and Metzger has no idea what to expect. To their benefit, they have two 5-11 girls. Barron and Slagle are going to need to learn the game quickly. With five seniors on the roster, the Spartans should have some leadership, but it probably won’t be enough for the free-lance team to reach its .500 goal. Metzger is also new to the Southern Section. Orangewood Academy should do fine against Fairmont, also new to the section, but it also has to face quite a few established programs, such as La Sierra Academy, which finished third in the Arrowhead League last season.
