OUTLOOK

Orangewood Academy becomes the newest competitor in the Southern Section and the Spartans have a young, quick team to put on the floor. In the middle, Thorson is hoping big things will come from Lloyd, who won’t have too many players his size to stop him. The Spartans are going to be a running team, but will be able to score in the halfcourt game if Lloyd can develop. Bennie and Vasquez are the main scoring threats. Both averaged 20 points last season with Anderson averaging 15. Orangewood Academy’s only glaring weakness is its lack of outside shooting, but if the fast break works as Thorson has planned and Lloyd does some scoring in the post, the Spartan’s might not need to shoot from too far away.
